I have never found a product that gets rid of all the diaper odor in the nursery, but there are many products that do help. First of all, get a decent diaper pail. The best I know of is the
Odor-Less Diaper Pail - my best friend had one, and it really worked. She's not the best about cleaning, and yet, her nursery always smelled great. That said, I've read some terrible reviews of this very same diaper pail. What to do? I have no clue. Read some reviews and choose one you think looks good. I've been around a bunch, and they're all about the same more or less except some need special bags. The one above uses any bags and thus you save money.
Here are a few ways to sweeten up the diaper pail at least somewhat. Smelleze Diaper Pail Deodorizer Granules: non-toxic, safe, non-hazardous, natural, non-scented, non-flammable, and non caustic for baby. Just sprinkle some into the diaper pail and the granules absorb odors. I've been hearing so many raves about these it's insane. Everyone says it work great.
Organic natural baby room deodorizer Fresh waves to naturally eliminate baby smells Citrus Circle Deodorizing Disks - I personally haven't tried these, but they're inexpensive, so you don't have much to lose.
Natural air fresheners to try Do-it-yourself method:
- Clean your pail twice a week with baking soda and warm water.
- Drop a few drops of tea tree and lavender essential oil into the bottom of your pail and rub it around with a cloth.
- Grab a small spray bottle. Fill with two cups water, and three drops lavender essential oil. When you walk in the room and there's an icky smell, simply mist your lavender water around the room.
