If your little one is going to be in daycare, you need to set up a tour of the facilities. Here's what to look for... Observe the space as a whole: Look at how the space is set up. Is it baby proofed, fun, and clean (to a point - remember kids play here so it won't be spotless, but it should be clean)? Are there age appropriate toys and activities? Is there a nice book collection? Are there windows for natural light? Observe the exterior: Is there a good outside play area? Is the play area enclosed, semi-shaded for hot days, and safe? Is the front door to the center kept locked - for safety? Observe the staff: How are they interacting with the kids? Are they loving, fun, easy going? Do the other children seem comfortable with the staff? How do the staff take care of issues and problems? Are the staff washing their hands regularly? Learn more about daycare choices.
