According to Consumer Reports, some practices related to attachment parenting may not be safe at all. Baby sling carriers and co-sleepers were recently deemed as parenting items NOT to own by the CR safety blog. The parent response has been immense over at CR. It's safe to say that parents in favor of attachment parenting have been flipping out a bit (with good reason) in the CR comments. While it's good traffic for CR, it's not that cool to put down attachment parenting items, especially when slings and co-sleeping, when related to MANY other things are pretty darn safe. Slings and co-sleeping aren't perfect, but they're also NOT, in my opinion, and others opinions, major hazards in the lives of tots.
