None of us like to be bored but now new research suggests that 'boring and repetitive' household chores raises the odds of giving birth prematurely. Weird right? The new research looked at data collected from almost 12,000 new mamas about how much they exercised during pregnancy and how much housework they did. The research relates that boring, non-mentally challenging work (which yes included boring old household chores) increased the odds a mama giving birth at least three weeks early by up to 25%. Researchers working on the study, which is published in the journal Perinatal Epidemiology aren't sure exactly why a bored mama might give birth early but they guess that boring tasks may increase levels of stress hormones involved in triggering labor. Wow! Need a great excuse to get out of housework ladies...? I guess now is your chance if you're pregnant. Seriously though, boredom isn't good for anyone - relaxation is, but utter boredom not so much. Some tips... *Source
