drop-side cribs for lamest recall of the decade;
Similac is pulling a ton of baby formula - how come?
Beetle parts and beetle larvae in said formula. YUM. And I thought
chocolate formula was bad.
The recalled formula:
- Certain Similac powder product lines offered in plastic containers.
- Certain Similac powder product lines offered in sizes such as 8-ounce, 12.4-ounce and 12.9-ounce cans.
On top of the insane recall here's how the company is informing people about which containers of formula have been recalled: Abbott, the company behind Similac notes, "
To immediately find out if the product in your possession is included in this recall, parents and caregivers should visit the Similac recall page, and type in their lot number to determine if their product is affected, or call (800) 986-8850." Here's what that entry form looks like:
Now, that's all fine and well
IF you can get through to the website. As I'm sure you know, during a recall, websites get many hits. So many it can crash a website. Same with phone lines. If you recall a baby product, FYI, post the product lot numbers on the press release. To not do so is just plain shoddy behavior. That's as stupid as the
whole Tylenol recall shenanigans earlier this year. In any case, if you've got Similac baby formula around the house, skip it until you can
check the lot numbers at the website.
