Drop-side cribs, at this point, could just change their name to "Recalled drop-side cribs" and no one would be the wiser. It's like they go hand-in-hand now! Obnoxious. This week an exclusive JCPenney's drop-side crib is being recalled - the Alexander Designs Ltd. brand drop-side cribs. The problem: The drop-side rail hardware on these cribs can break or fail. This allows the drop side to detach from the crib, leaving a hazardous gap between the drop-side rail and the crib mattress in which infants and toddlers can become wedged or entrapped, posing risks of suffocation and strangulation. In addition, children can fall out of the crib when the drop-side rail falls unexpectedly or detaches from the crib. Description: This recall involves full-size cribs sold under the Alexander Designs brand name. “Alexander Designs Ltd.” and the JCPenney catalog/item number are printed on a label on the crib’s headboard. Visit the CPSC website to see all the crib models that are included in this recall. If you have one of these cribs, stop using it immediately and obtain a free repair kit that will immobilize the drop-side rail. Get your repair kit. There have also been a couple of stroller recalls. First up are the Valco Baby Tri Mode Single and Twin Jogging Strollers. Second up are the Tike Tech Single City X3 and X3 Sport Jogging Strollers. Both of these strollers pose a strangulation hazard to young children. The images shown above do not include all models. To see all models click on the links above.
