The research, discussed in the Journal of the American Heart Association notes that arterial stiffness can be a major problem for adults. it's associated with atherosclerosis a key player in heart disease. After comparing childhood and adult lifestyle factors, researchers found that even after factoring in other risk factors, (like smoking), adults who experienced a lifetime pattern of high consumption of fruits and vegetables had less arterial stiffness than adults who ate low amounts of produce in childhood and beyond.
