Not loosing the baby weight as fast as you'd like? Well, a lack of sleep might be to blame. According to a recent study, people who sleep more loose more actual fat than people who sleep less, in spite of like-minded dieting efforts. The study compared light sleepers to average sleepers and more than half the weight lost by folks who slept 8.5 hours per night was fat. However, for people who only slept 5.5 hours a night, about 1/4 of the weight they loss was fat. Sure the light sleepers still lost weight, but they lost more due to muscle and other body tissue loss. Not as good as loosing fat! So, although it's rough, as a new mama you really should try to get a decent amount of shut-eye. Not only will you feel better and more alert to deal with baby drama, but those actual fat pounds might just melt off easier.
