I have NO IDEA why someone would aim for multiple babies on purpose. I'm not saying that single born babies are better than multiples, but seriously, one baby at a time is super hard, not to mention expensive, so it's hard to comprehend why someone would find multiples so darn appealing when it's double the work and money. Personal feelings aside, I have heard many parents express interest in having twins vs. a single baby.
