Relaxing during pregnancy may benefit your future female offspring. According to new research from the University of Minnesota Medical School's Department of Integrative Biology and Physiology, when a mother experienced stress during her pregnancy, it resulted in larger female offspring and those offspring had abnormally high blood sugar levels, a typical symptom of being overweight or obese. I'm inclined to think that eating healthy foods and getting up off the couch will help keep more kids healthy in the long run, than being relaxed during pregnancy will, but hey every little bit helps during this insane obesity epidemic right?
