Rachel McAdams and Channing Tatum play Paige and Leo, a young married couple whose lives are devastated by a tragic car accident. When Paige’s memory of her entire relationship with Leo is erased, her husband promises to do whatever it takes to regain her love.

A big monkey wrench gets thrown into his plan when Paige’s ex-fiancé Jeremy (played by Scott Speedman) shows up — the one love she actually does remember.

The film is based on the book The Vow: The Kim and Krickitt Carpenter Story, a true tale about a couple who dealt with the same devastating memory loss after a car accident just ten weeks after their 1993 wedding. Krickitt lost her memory of the previous 18 months of her life — including any knowledge of the man she fell in love with, who still desperately loved her.

A tearjerker in the vein of McAdams’ biggest hit The Notebook, the Michael Sucsy-directed film The Vow will hit theaters on Valentine’s Day, 2012 — just in time for you to weep your way through the evening and renew your faith in true love. If McAdams and Tatum have the same incredible chemistry that she had with Ryan Gosling, this will definitely be a three-hanky movie.
